What is MoreClearPNG?
MoreClearPNG is a free, browser-based tool that removes solid-color backgrounds from images and produces transparent PNGs. It runs entirely in your browser using WebGL2 and Web Workers, meaning your images are never uploaded to any server.
It is optimized for design assets, AI-generated images (such as those from Nanobanana), icons, logos, and any image with a uniform background color.
Step 1: Upload Your Image
Open MoreClearPNG and upload your image in one of two ways:
- Drag & Drop: Drag your image file directly onto the upload area.
- Click to Browse: Click the upload area to open a file picker.
Supported formats include PNG, JPG, and WebP. Once uploaded, a preview of your original image appears on the left panel.
Step 2: Choose the Background Color to Remove
Select which background color to target for removal:
- Auto: Automatically detects the background color from the image corners. This works well for most images.
- White: Targets white (#FFFFFF) backgrounds.
- Black: Targets black (#000000) backgrounds.
- Custom: Opens a color picker so you can select any specific background color to remove.
Tip: Auto mode works best when the background color is consistent across all four corners of the image. If your image has a non-uniform edge, try selecting the color manually.
Step 3: Adjust Settings
Fine-tune the result using three key controls:
Sensitivity (Default: 22)
Controls how aggressively similar colors are matched for removal. A higher value removes more colors that are close to the target background color.

Edge Smoothing (Default: 0)

Padding (Default: 4)
Adds transparent padding around the cropped result. Useful when you need spacing around the subject for design layouts or game assets.
Step 4: Preview the Result
The result appears instantly on the right panel. You can toggle the preview background between:
- Checkerboard: Classic transparency pattern to verify the background was removed.
- Black: See how the subject looks on a dark background.
- White: See how the subject looks on a light background.
Hover over the result to activate the magnifier for pixel-level inspection.
Step 5: Download
Click the "Download PNG" button to save the transparent PNG to your device. The output preserves full resolution with lossless transparency.
